This module focuses on equipping participants with the skills and techniques necessary to edit and optimize videos specifically for social media platforms. The session includes an introduction to tools, hands-on editing practice, and strategies to maximize the reach and engagement of their content.
• Overview of free and paid editing tools.
• Learn basic techniques: cutting, transitions, text overlays, and music integration.
• Explore the user interface of popular apps.
• Understand platform-specific requirements (aspect ratios, lengths, thumbnails).
• Adding captions and text overlays to enhance accessibility.
• Basics of color grading: luminosity, contrast, saturation, and dominant hues.
• Examples of filters to maintain visual consistency.
• Best practices for uploading: resolution, timing, and tagging.
• Introduction to video performance metrics and analysis.

• Rule of thirds, visual balance, and breaking the rules.
• Shooting angles: low, high, and eye-level shots.
• Scales, aspect ratios, and framing for storytelling.
• Techniques for creating depth and dynamic movement in videos.
• Basics of natural and artificial lighting.
• Adjusting exposure and white balance for clear visuals.
• Techniques for clean audio recording and noise reduction.
• Overview of sound equipment and editing, mixing, and syncing audio.
• Apply learned techniques to storyboarded videos.
• Real-time feedback to improve filming quality.
• Practice in a supportive and interactive environment.

Final Project and Film Exhibiton
This module introduces participants to the essentials of filming for social media, covering strategy, planning, and tools. It balances theory with practical activities to build foundational skills for creating effective social media videos.
• Review and polish video edits.
• Export videos in the required resolution (e.g., 1080p, MP4).
• Address any technical challenges with instructor support.
• Screen all participant videos in a communal setting.
• Encourage participants to share inspirations or challenges related to their projects.
• Create a celebratory atmosphere to honor creative efforts.

Who is this workshop for?
No prior experience is needed— just a smartphone and enthusiasm!
Do I need professional equipment to participate?
The workshop focuses on practical techniques and tools you can use with what you already have, but we’ll also introduce optional budget-friendly equipment to enhance your videos.
What will I have by the end of the workshop?
Will there be hands-on practice?
What happens if the minimum number of participants isn’t met or I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel, we offer a full refund for cancellations made at least 72 hours before the workshop and a 50% refund for cancellations made up to 48 hours before.
Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance are non-refundable.
